Ah, the ravages of Yuppie Blight. This scourge is characterized with some of the same metrics with it's ugly cousin, Urban Blight. When french bistros outnumber liquor stores 4 to 0, like at our place on Lincoln and Shattuck in North Berkeley, you have yuppie blight. When a bell peper at Adronicos costs $3.50, you deffinately have yuppie blight. And don't forget the $500,000 1 bedroom condos. I rode my bike for 5 blocks the other night, fruitlessly searching for a tabacoo and liquor store to buy a six pack. Finally I retreated with my tail between my legs and purchased the soothing elixer at Elephant Pharmacy, the "Drug store that prescribes yoga". Sheesh. We're not in Reno anymore.
