Facebook Connect vs LinkedIn disconnect
The Facebook Connect API is well documented, and pretty open, and destined to be sucessful. It is a pretty viable option for adding users authentication to your website. But it is consumer facing.
I'd like users to be able to allow users to log into my site, but as the site has business related content, I would love to enable them to use their LInkedIn profile. But that's not an option... I'd have to apply to LinkedIn.
It's a pain to use an API. Even one that is well put together takes time to learn, web develeopment skills, integration, basically effort.
LinkedIn's API will never get a big following with these barriers to using it.
